Monel 400 Stud Bolt

The 400 monel studs range includes double-ended studs, fully threaded rods, tie rods, and partially threaded stud bolts, available in sizes M2 to M33 and lengths from 3 mm to 200 mm. Threading options include metric coarse, metric fine, UNC, and UNF, allowing compatibility with diverse assemblies. Every fastener is produced to comply with international standards, including ASTM F467, ASME SF467, UNS N04400, DIN EN 2.4360, and ISO 898-1 where applicable. These standards ensure the stud bolts meet strict tolerances for tensile strength, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish, making them suitable for high-spec industrial installations worldwide.


Monel 400 is a solid-solution nickel-copper alloy with a nominal composition of 63% nickel and 28–34% copper, along with small amounts of iron (≤ 2.5%), manganese (≤ 2%), carbon (≤ 0.3%), silicon (≤ 0.5%), and sulfur (≤ 0.024%). This alloy is virtually immune to chloride stress corrosion cracking and resists pitting in seawater at flow rates exceeding 3.6 m/s. It performs exceptionally well in hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid under controlled conditions, alkaline solutions, and neutral salts. These qualities make Monel 400 stud bolts ideal for applications where exposure to harsh and reducing environments is unavoidable.


In addition to corrosion resistance, Monel alloy 400 stud bolts offer impressive mechanical properties. They provide a tensile strength between 517 and 620 MPa (75–90 ksi), a yield strength between 172 and 345 MPa (25–50 ksi), and elongation ranging from 40% to 48%. The alloy retains its toughness and ductility even at sub-zero temperatures, making it suitable for cryogenic applications. It also maintains structural stability up to about 480°C, allowing it to be used in heat exchangers, boilers, and superheaters. These properties ensure that Monel 400 stud bolts provide secure fastening under both thermal expansion and mechanical load variations.
